Internet is filled with so many weird incidences these days. But this one is really shocking.
A 14 year old boy was accidentally shot dead by his father on Sunday at Sarasota, Florida Gun Range. William Brumby, the father, was devastated and grief stricken.
As per to the Sarasota County sheriff’s statement, William Clayton Brumby, along with his son Stephen Brumby, was practicing firing at the High Noon Gun Range on July 3rd. While reaching behind his back to pull out a hot shell casing that had deflected and fallen down in the back of his shirt, he accidently pulled the trigger of the gun holding in the other hand.
The bullet rebounded off the ceiling and hit Stephen in the neck. Brumby’s 24 year old son, David and 12 year old daughter were also present in the scene. The teen was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his wound soon after.
The 64 year old dad holds himself responsible for his son’s untimely demise. He told the CNN, “The gun didn’t kill my boy. I did. “Every round in the gun is your responsibility. When it fires you need to stand to account for it. That’s what I’ve spent the last two days doing, accounting for my operating error.”
The sheriff department called it an ‘accidental shooting’; hence no charges were pressed against Clayton.
